Mark Beets: News

I have been nominated for "Male Vocalist of the Year" by the Texas Music Awards for my work on "More Beets Please". You can vote at www.texasmusicawards.org.until March 5th, 2010.

"More Beets Please", the new EP is complete and for sale! The new songs made thier debut on Nov. 7th during The White Cat Showcase held at McGonigels Mucky Duck. CD's are available at select websites and all shows.

New EP in the works with seven new songs. Tentative release date is 11/1/09

Mark has been invited to join forces with Connie Mims, Danny Everitt, Brian Kalinec, and James Sweat to form The Songbenders. This will be a group of songwriters who will play together from time to time. Our tentative monthly residence will be every fourth Monday at Main Street Crossing beginning sometime in February. Stay tuned for future dates.

Two new songs are currently in production at White Cat Studios. The plan is to hopefully release a 5 song EP sometime in 2009. Check me out on MySpace to hear some sneak previews from time to time.

On Aug. 17th Mark competed in the monthly Bugle Boy Showcase along with 8 other songwriters from around the state. Mark's win puts him in the Best Of Showcase on Nov 1st to compete against other winners and a chance at 500 smakaroos!

After talking about it for a year or two, Mark has finally teamed up with Jerry Chambers(drums), Steve Hitt(guitar), Dan Smith(bass), and Sandy Stewart(keyboards, vocals), to form a band. Check calendar page for updates.
